
Dear NYC Principals and Administrators,
The NYC Department of Health has released the immunization requirements for the 2021-2022 school year. There are some changes to this year’s requirements so please carefully read through the guidance linked below.
In short, the changes are:
Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY) vaccine:
- Grades 7 and 8: Dose 1 must be given at age 10 years or older
- Grades 9 to 12: Dose 1 given earlier than age 10 years will continue to satisfy the vaccination requirement
Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap) booster:
- Grades 6 and 7: Only doses given at age 10 years or older will satisfy the requirement
- Grades 8-12: Doses given at age 7 years or older will continue to satisfy the vaccination requirement
