Dear NYC Principals and Administrators,

We are happy to share that Mayor de Blasio announced today that 3-K for All will expand to all 32 community school districts across New York City. Community representatives and activists, Agudath Israel among them, have been advocating for this 3-K for All expansion and are excited to see it come to fruition.

Key Highlights:

  • Programs in the new 3-K districts that were awarded services through the Birth-to-Five Services RFP may receive an updated notification from [email protected] in the coming weeks that adds school day and year 3-K to their award.
  • If you do not receive this notification and/or did not propose for school day and year 3-K seats, you can still make the request for school day and year 3-K seats in the BUDGET Tool. You will be able to make these requests in the BUDGET Tool beginning April 2.
  • Current Family Child Care Networks may have the opportunity to add 3-K services to their contract and will be contacted directly in the near future.
  • The 3-K application deadline for families, originally scheduled for April 30, will be extended to May 28. Programs in the new districts will be added to the application throughout April and May.
You can submit questions regarding this to the DOE through this form.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all the government and elected officials who worked on this effort, and in particular, Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein and Assistant Commissioner of CAU Pinny Ringel.

As always, feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
