Rabbi Yisrael Gelb and Dr. Irving Lebovics leading Agudath Israel of California’s annual legislative mission to Sacramento. Community leaders from across California spent the day at the Capitol to urge officials to expand the California nonprofit security grant program, address the rise in anti-Semitism among other priorities.

 

Senator Ben Allen, (Santa Monica), chair of the Jewish Caucus speaks to the Agudah delegates at a luncheon for the Jewish Caucus. Also present was vice-chair Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel (West Valley), Senator Scott Weiner (San Francisco), Adrin Nazarian (Valley Village), Jose Medina (Riverside), and Senator Hannah Beth-Jackson (Santa Barbara). The Caucus and the Agudah have worked together on many bills, including the most recent passage of the Mezuah bill, protecting condo and apartment owners from HOA anti-mezuzah rules.
