Given the significant increase in antisemitic incidents across the country and right here in Greater Boston, we ask that you please send the note below to your legislators. Our schools and shuls are spending significant funds each year to protect our children and our community and they should not have to shoulder these costs alone. One of the state’s core functions is to ensure the safety of all residents and to deploy resources to where they are most needed to prevent attacks.
We are asking our state senators to partner with our schools and shuls and asking them to advocate for additional state resources for the nonprofit security grant program to ensure that our community members can attend shul and send their children to day school without fear and unease. In addition to the support for security related building upgrades we also request that the state allocate additional funds to cover the cost of security guards.
