On Tuesday evening, Agudath Israel of America’s Connecticut Office was honored to host a candidate forum for the Waterbury community with the two mayoral candidates, Paul Pernerewski (D) and Dawn Maiorano (R).
The mayoral candidates told the community about themselves and shared why they chose to run for mayor. They also answered questions from the audience regarding their plans for public safety, bringing businesses to the city, and how the city can work together with and support the local Yeshiva K’Tana.
At the end of the forum, community members had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the nominees and ask any further questions they may have.
“We are grateful to the mayoral candidates for presenting their platform to the community,” said Rabbi Weisenfeld. “That they were both eager to do so, demonstrates they understand that as a community we are engaged and active voters.”
