Dear NYC Principals and Administrators,
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) has announced that the federal Child Care Stabilization Grant application will be available soon. Please note that, as of now, it is clear Article 47 childcare programs are eligible for this grant. We are waiting for guidance regarding the eligibility of Article 43 school based programs or enrolled Article 43 programs. For NYC programs, an enrolled Article 43 site is one which is enrolled through Whedco. If you accept childcare vouchers, than you are likely enrolled with Whedco.
This grant is designed to help you recover from the pandemic and will provide funding to child care programs for:
- Rent, mortgage or utilities;
- Payroll;
- Health and Safety Training;
- Facility Maintenance or improvements;
- PPE and cleaning/sanitizing supplies;
- COVID-19 related equipment;
- Goods to continue child care services.
We strongly encourage eligible childcares to prepare for this grant by:
- making sure that you have your child care permit number,
- tax identification number
- and documentation of your monthly expenses.
As of now, we do not have any more information regarding this grant. We will notify schools when more information becomes available.
If you have any questions, please call or email your assigned representative, call your borough office or email [email protected].
