Dear NYC Childcare Provider,
Please be aware that child care programs are being contacted by individuals falsely representing themselves as employees of The Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and/or the Department of Health.
These individuals contact home-based child care providers and give the child care provider the name of their licensor/registrar, and tell them the purpose of the call is to confirm COVID case information or schedule an inspection of the program. The individual asks the provider for sensitive information- including Social Security Number.
Any calls regarding COVID-19 cases will come from the NYC Test and Trace Corps and they will not ask for social security numbers. As a reminder, DO NOT SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION!
You may receive a call from DOHMH to verify your program information in order for OCFS to develop a funding application for child care programs impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. These calls will be from NYC DOHMH borough office staff who will identify themselves. If you have questions about these calls, please email [email protected].
