Below are some updates from the Bureau of Child Care.
Online Forms for Background Checks:
The NYC Health Department launched a new online form for group childcare programs and school-based childcare programs to submit requests for staff and volunteer Background Checks. Starting May 22, 2023, all Background Check requests must be submitted online. A-series and B-series forms will no longer be accepted by email.
To help streamline the launch, please do not submit any background check requests between May 14 and May 21.
The online form will be available on the NYC Health Department website.
Updated Group Child Care Training and Professional Development Resources:
The updated Group Child Care Training and Professional Development Resources guide can be found here.
Requirements were added in 2019 under the Child Care Development Block Grant, and some trainings previously required only for assistant teachers are now required for all teaching staff.
