Dear NYS Principals and Administrators,

Please see below for some updates on the EANS I and II programs.
  • The Letter of Intent for the second round of EANS is due on Monday, November 8. Please see our memo here for more information.
  • NYSED presented a webinar this week about EANS II. The PowerPoint presentation is available here and the recording will be posted on the main EANS NYSED page as soon as it is available.
  • Selected updates from the webinar:
    • So far NYSED has issued over 130 reimbursements, about 40% of the total, and has augmented their staff to speed up processing for the rest.
    • If a school purchases HVAC equipment or windows, then the labor costs are eligible to be covered by EANS I and II funding.
    • SMARTboards may be purchased with EANS funds provided the installation is covered by the school.
    • Any school that received a PPP loan after December 27, 2020, regardless of when they applied, is ineligible for EANS I and II. In our previous memo we accidently wrote 2021 in regard to the PPP date. Please note the correct date.
    • SpecialEd schools can count their K-12 enrollment up to 21 years old.
    • NYSED will be designating a point person to work with HVAC vendors in each region.
    • NYSED will procure technology items (Chromebooks, computers, SMARTboards, etc.) on behalf of the schools.

As always, feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
