Dear Community,

The crisis in Israel has taken us all by surprise. Ever since October 7th, the world as we knew it has changed. The situation in Israel is dire, with our brothers and sisters facing immense danger.

Unfortunately, the danger doesn’t end in Israel. Throughout the world, we are witnessing a troubling rise in antisemitic activities. Here in Florida, we have recently had incidents in many of our local communities.

This week, the Florida Legislature is convening for a special session. One of the top items on lawmakers’ agenda as well as ours is a bill that would allocate $25 million to Jewish day schools and an additional $10 million toward the state’s new Nonprofit Security Grant. Our school, shuls and other nonprofits will be able to apply for the grant to cover target hardening and other needed security upgrades.

Needless to say, now more than ever, this funding will be extremely helpful to our community. Please take a moment to sign our action alert, which will be sent to all state legislators, expressing our support for this important bill.

Thank you for your support,

Rabbi Moshe Matz
