House Bill 243 (Hamilton) was given one last chance today as this year’s session of the Georgia General Assembly comes to a close this week. Senate Bill 116 (Ligon) was stripped of its language dealing with “Celebrate Freedom Week” and replaced with the language of HB 243. While this maneuver doesn’t guarantee a floor vote by the Friday night deadline,  it does give Georgia school choice advocates one more chance to pass the bill in 2015 and adds an additional pathway for success in 2016.
