Dear NYS Principals and Administrators,
In light of the recent uptick in hate crimes in New York, Governor Cuomo announced that $25 million in the next round of Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes (SCAHC) funding will be released shortly. SCAHC is a funding opportunity for schools in NYS to purchases equipment such as doors, cameras, and lighting to protect against hate crimes.
NYS only accepts applications for grants once the applicant is prequalified in the Grants Gateway. If you are planning on applying for this grant and you are not yet prequalified, you should begin the prequalification process now by clicking here.
Schools located in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester that wish to apply for this grant may qualify for a free security assessment though the JCRC. You can fill out an assessment request here.
As always, feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
