Georgia’s Education Savings Account bill continued to advance this week thanks to a change in committee assignment. House Bill 243 was moved on Monday from the Education Committee to the Ways and Means Committee where it passed without a problem.

Unfortunately, the revised version of the bill included some changes to the eligibility language. However, we hope to keep working with our coalition partners and the bill sponsor to ensure the widest possible eligibility pool.

In order to stay alive the bill needs to pass out of the House during today’s session.

Agudath Israel and its coalition partners have led a strong grassroots effort to encourage legislative leaders to move the bill to the House floor for a vote.
