Dear Community Members,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Yom Tov.

As you may know, the Massachusetts Legislature created a statewide Commission to Combat Antisemitism in the summer of 2024. The Commission is scheduled to complete their work on November 30, 2025, when it will submit its recommendations to the Legislature for review and consideration.

The Commission has done important work and recently released its K-12 findings and recommendations for addressing antisemitism in schools. The report includes many practical and productive recommendations that would create real progress if adopted. See here for the full report.

Unfortunately, there are also political forces seeking to undermine the work of the Commission and to cast doubt about whether antisemitism remains a problem the Commonwealth should address. It is therefore very important for our community members to participate in the public comment opportunity and to write in to the Commission with personal experiences of antisemitism or words of support for the Commission. If you have additional ideas or recommendations for the Commission, please feel free to include that as well. Here is the link to submit comment.

While personal letters are most impactful, you can also submit the above Agudah NE template which highlights the experience of the Orthodox community and offers support for the Commission’s work.

As the process continues, we will share additional opportunities for you to contact your legislators and urge them to adopt the Commission’s recommendations.

All the best,

Ariella
