Agudath Israel played a crucial role in the passing of the first school choice program in Missouri. In its first year of the program, half a million dollars went through Agudath Israel’s EAO (Education Assistance Organization), a scholarship organization which receives contributions that are matched dollar for dollar to give scholarships to eligible students. Agudath Israel’s EAO awarded the second most scholarships in the state of Missouri. Agudath Israel of Missouri’s allocation for next year has been increased significantly to $2 million and we are looking to expand the program by removing some of the eligibility requirements, such as the need for students entering second grade or higher to have attended public school in the previous semester.
