As we previously shared, Agudath Israel played a crucial role in advocating for the increase in allocation from $15 million to $45 million as well as expanding the permissible uses of the funds to allow for capital expenses.
This year, the entire budget is allocated on a per student basis at $112 per student, based on the 2021-22 student enrollment. The scope of projects eligible for reimbursement has been expanded. It now includes “remediation of hazardous conditions, and the repair and maintenance of buildings, facilities, appurtenances, equipment, and systems to maintain the health and safety of school building occupants.”
