NYS Loan Program Orders

Dear NYC Principals and Administrators,

We’d like to remind you to place your orders for the NYS Loan Programs in a timely manner. Allocations must be used in their allocation year, and do not roll over to the next year. Last year, the deadline to place orders was in February, and we anticipate that it will be around that time again this year.

More information about the loan programs and allocation amounts can be found here.

Orders are placed through the FAMIS portal here

A DOE webinar on how to navigate the FAMIS portal and place orders can be found on our website here.

The deadline to submit your NYC DOE Loan Request and Enrollment Certificate (LREC) form for the 2025-26 school year already passed, but if you have not yet submitted it you still can. The form and instructions can be found here. You must submit this form if you partake in any NYS Loan Programs.

FAMIS Troubleshooting

School consultant Chana R. Zucker shared that FAMIS recently seems to have been updated, causing two main problems:

1. Shipping address issue when checking out:

  • When you try to check out, the shipping address is blank.
  • You can’t search for your school or assign the correct address.
  • Random, irrelevant locations show up instead.
  • You cannot place an order until this is fixed.

How to fix it:

Before placing any order, go into your User Profile, update it (even if it looks correct), and add your school’s shipping address as both Default and Favorite. This resolves the checkout address problem.

2. SHOP DOE checkout button disappears:

When FAMIS does internal updates, the checkout box in SHOP DOE disappears, even if you were able to order previously in the same fiscal year.

How to fix it:

Relink FAMIS to SHOP DOE by updating your User Profile in FAMIS and re-entering the default SHOP DOE email address under “Other Users,” even if it already appears there. Without doing this, you cannot checkout on SHOP DOE.
