Rabbi Shlomo Soroka, director of government affairs for Agudath Israel of Illinois, joined Missouri Governor Mike Parson in Jefferson City, last week for the signing ceremony of a major school choice bill. After years of hard work by the Agudah and its coalition partners, the Missouri Legislature passed HB349, a bill that provides education savings accounts through tax credits. Rabbi Soroka, has led the Agudah’s Missouri efforts in recent years. “After many years of advocacy, seeing the bill passed into law was extremely gratifying, and as a native Missourian, being invited to the bill signing with the governor was a great honor,” said Rabbi Soroka. “This bill will have a positive impact on the lives of many children across the state and I am fortunate to have been part of the coalition that helped make this happen.”
