The second annual H3 UK Business Halocho Summit took place this past Wednesday at Ditton Manor in the heart of London. After the tremendous success of last year’s inaugural H3 London Business Halocho Summit, which was produced in conjunction with Agudath Israel of Illinois, a record-breaking crowd of over 700 Bnei Torah in the business world signed up this year. The event committee assumed the venue would need to be larger this year, and the results exceeded their imagination. Even more impressive were the many stories told by returning attendees about how the inspiration of the H3 conference last year totally changed their lives and the way they do business.
Along with renowned rabbanim and poskim, attendees were once again treated to a broad array of speakers and sessions on timely topics of Halacha, Hashkafa and Hanhaga in business. New this year, the summit organizers offered one on one coaching sessions and private sessions with Dayanim and Rabbanim. The impressive list of presenters included Dayan Yehoshua Posen from London, Rav Chaim Meir Roth from Lakewood, and Rav Moshe Kaufman from Chicago. Many attendees confirmed that a highlight of the program was the spotlight session featuring R’ Naftali Horowitz, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, speaking about his personal experience in the business world. The climax of the event was the keynote dinner, where the attendees heard inspirational words from the well-known Detroit businessman and askan Mr. Gary Torgow, Chairmen of the Board of Directors, The Huntington Bank, and Rabbi Yisroel Reisman, Rosh Hayeshiva of Torah Vodaath and Mora D’asra of Agudath Yisroel of Madison. The evening keynote also included a special message about the mission of Agudath Israel from Rabbi Yitzchok Ehrman, CEO of Agudath Israel of America.
In what has become a trademark of the H3 summits, the attention to detail at this year’s event did not disappoint. Many hours of meeting and planning between the team of volunteers in London, led by the indomitable R’ Shaul Bodner and R’ Baz Stern, together with the H3 team of Agudah Illinois, led by Rabbi Yaakov Robinson, Rabbi Bentzy Schechter and Ms. Kate Kramer, ensured that everyone had an enjoyable experience.
