Dear NYS Principals and Administrators,

Last week we hosted a webinar in conjunction with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regarding Childcare Desert Grants.

This presentation includes information on becoming a NYS Licensed Childcare provider. Programs in NYC that are governed by Article 47, have a different process and may have additional requirements. NYC programs must attend a pre-permit orientation. See here for more information.

Check the box next to “Group Child Care and Summer Camp Orientation Sessions”, then click “Continue” at the bottom of the page before applying for a new permit. After you have attended the applicable orientation, you can apply for a license/registration/permit for a new childcare program. For all steps of the grant application process, read the RFA, section 5.0, Application Content and Submission.

As always, feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
