On Wednesday, school choice advocates gathered on Capitol Hill to celebrate National School Choice Week. Rep. Luke Messer (R-Indiana) hosted the event and is a strong supporter of school choice. He plans to introduce the Enhancing Educational Opportunities for all Students Act, which will expand educational options for children.
The event took place in the Canon House Office Building and brought together several hundred school choice advocates – including students, parents, and educators – and featured a number of notable lawmakers who shared inspiring words.The guests included House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Rep. John Kline (R-MN), Rep Steve Scalise (R-LA), and others,
all of whom lauded the efforts of the school choice movement to create opportunities for children to receive the best education possible. Agudath Israel was one of several co-sponsors of the well-attended event.
