The Agudah Voting Project was pleased to host a town hall with New York City mayoral candidate Shaun Donovan as part of its series of town halls with candidates running for public office.

Mr. Donovan participated in a robust conversation in which he spoke about his vision for New York City, and his years of experience as Commissioner of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and both secretary of Housing and Urban Development and director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Obama administration. Advocates from the community asked Mr. Donovan questions about how he would deal with the current downturn in the economy, vaccine rollout, anti-Semitism, housing issues, and other challenges currently facing New York City and the Orthodox Jewish communities there.

Rabbi Yeruchim Silber, Agudah’s director of New York government relations, said, “We would like to thank Mr. Donovan for joining us for an important and insightful conversation.”

The Agudah Voting Project has held virtual town events previously with mayoral candidates Eric Adams, Kathryn Garcia, Maya Wiley and Andrew Yang and is looking forward to town halls scheduled for additional candidates in the coming weeks.
