Substantial Equivalency Update

Dear NYC Principals and Administrators,

We are sharing this Substantial Equivalency update from before Pesach again in case you missed it.

ONPCS has reached out to all schools that have been deemed substantially equivalent via Pathway #1 (Registered High School or their lower school affiliate), Pathway #2 (State Special Education Schools), Pathway #3 (State-Approved Accreditation), and Pathway #4 (International Baccalaureate Program). School leaders should have received an email from the ONPCS Substantial Equivalency mailbox with a letter attached.

ONPCS is still reviewing the schools that chose Pathway #6 (Assessments) and will be sending out notifications at a later date. They may still be reaching out to schools that chose this pathway for more information.

Please see here for more information regarding Pathway #6 (Assessments) and Pathway #7 (LSA review).

Important Reminder: If you chose Pathway #6, you must administer science assessments.

The required assessments are:

Grades 3-8: ELA & Math

Grades 5 & 8 (or similar interval): Science

Grades 9–12: 1 of each: ELA, Science, Math, Social Studies

As always, feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
