Dear Friends,

Headlines were ablaze with news of a disturbing incident that unfolded at an Agudath Israel of America event held on the sidelines of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Anti-Israel protestors forcibly interrupted our gathering, which was intended to raise awareness about the growing menace of antisemitism faced by Jews in America, particularly Orthodox Jews.

The scenes broadcasted—masked agitators shouting slogans like “brick by brick, wall by wall, Zionism has got to fall”—understandably captured attention.

However, while the media has fixated on the dramatic and disturbing actions of these protestors, there was an essential narrative that remained obscured.

The main story that deserved our focus was completely ignored.

I am referring to the profound and purposeful role of Agudas Yisroel and its unwavering commitment to shtadlanus—advocacy—on behalf of Klal Yisroel. This mission was completely overlooked amidst the chaos.

Our participation in the Democratic National Convention, like our previous engagements at the Republican National Convention and former President Trump’s Bedminster, NJ event to combat antisemitism, was not about seeking media attention or engaging in political theater. Each appearance is meticulously planned and guided by the principles set forth by the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah. We are guided by their wisdom to ensure that our message is both impactful and aligned with our highest values.

The Agudah’s role is far from superficial. We are not driven by the allure of political drama, but by a sincere commitment to understand how best to advance the interests of Klal Yisroel. Our presence at these events is a testament to our dedication to advocating for our community’s needs in the most effective manner.

While the world may be engrossed in the political spectacle of the moment, the Agudah staff is engaged in a different kind of vigilance. We are not merely observers, but active participants, assessing and adapting our shtadlanus efforts to ensure that they serve the greater good of Klal Yisroel and are mekadeish Sheim Shomayim.

Our focus is not on the fleeting noise, but on the enduring mission to support Yidden wherever they may reside.

While the world at large is captivated by the unfolding political drama and the quest to determine the next president, and as everyone’s eyes are glued to the political stage, the Agudah staff is also intently observing.

However, our perspective is markedly different.

Our focus is not on the spectacle of the political arena but on a deeper, more profound responsibility: understanding our chovas hishtadlus, our duty to engage in proactive and purposeful efforts on behalf of Klal Yisroel.

This is what we do.

The headlines may spotlight the disruption caused by protestors, but the real story lies in the steadfast commitment of Agudah’s staff and askanim. Their tireless work—often behind the scenes, driven by a profound sense of responsibility—is a testament to their dedication to Klal Yisroel. It is their relentless pursuit of meaningful connections and solutions that truly defines the Agudah’s mission.

This is the Agudah we cherish and revere.

This is the Agudah that embodies the spirit of shtadlanus, working tirelessly each day to ensure that our collective efforts have a lasting and positive impact.

Let us remain focused on this essential narrative and continue to support our shared mission with unwavering resolve.

Gut voch.
