Agudath Israel, as part of its historic mission to help build a thriving and vibrant Torah-true community, founded Torah Initiatives (formerly known as the Torah Projects Commission) 40 years ago at the 54th annual Agudath Israel convention. Since then, Torah Initiatives has sponsored thousands of shiurim, halacha conferences, chavrusah programs, conference calls, Shabbosim of Chizuk, batei midrashim nationwide, and a host of other programs to promote limud haTorah throughout the community.
Over the years, Torah Initiatives has had many successes, including the founding of the legendary Motzei Shabbos navi shiur given by Rabbi Yisroel Reisman, which has attracted thousands of participants in its 35-year history. Another major project is the highly popular Yarchei Kallah, which this year brought more than 400 people from around the world to Eretz Yisroel for a week of intensive Torah study. Other projects include halachic conferences for professionals, chol hamoed Yarchei Kallah, shiurim guides, chavrusa programs, and a host of other activities designed to increase the learning of our Torah Hakedosha.
