Dear NYS Principals and Administrators,
As previously reported, the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) has announced a competitive grant opportunity for child care programs. For more information, please see HERE.
Please note that the current Request for Application (RFA) is for new programs. A separate RFA for existing programs will be released soon.
See below for some helpful information:
- Legally exempt programs applying for licensing/registration would be considered “new” programs if they don’t currently hold an OCFS license/registration. and would therefore be eligible for this grant.
- For NYC- This means that Article 43 programs can be eligible if they apply to become Article 47 programs.
- For NYS- This means that legally exempt child cares that are attached to a school can be eligible if they apply for OCFS license/registration.
- For a recording of the Grant Informational Session, click here.
- For the Q&A document, click here.
- The application period is April 11, 2022 to May 19, 2022 by 11:59 p.m.
- For NYS- You must complete the OCFS Child Day Care Orientation before applying for the Invest in NY Child Care grant opportunity. After completing the Orientation, you can request a licensing application.
- For NYC- Programs applying to become an NYC Article 47 day care center, must attend a pre-permit orientation before applying for a new permit. After you have attended that orientation, you can apply for a permit for a new child care program.
