Schools are reaching out to us. Big Sisters tell their friends about us. New branches are opening. Bnos One-on-One is finishing our most exciting year ever!
Bnos One-on-One is an incredible program from Bnos Agudas Yisroel that pairs high school Big Sisters with middle school Little Sisters. The Sisters meet in pairs for one hour a week to connect and have fun. They also have group events throughout the year.
300+ big-Little Sister pairs met this season in Brooklyn, Passaic, Boston, and Lakewood. Brooklyn, in particular, saw tremendous growth. The girls finished the season on a high with Purim and end-of-year events this spring.
But the beauty of Bnos One-on-One is that it’s not over when it’s over. Many Sisters keep up their relationships for years! One Brooklyn young woman was a Big Sister in high school. This year she kept up with her Little Sister while she was in Israel for six months and picked up Bnos One-on-One with her when she returned.
Another Big Sister lives out of town but was a Brooklyn Big Sister while she attended a Brooklyn seminary last year. This year, she kept up with her Little Sister and even helped her get into camp for the summer. Even more, she wants to open a new Bnos One-on-One branch in her home city!
“The stories are just a few of many,” says Mrs. Chana Baila Hass, National Director of Bnos Agudas Yisroel. “Bnos One-on-One is so powerful! We all see how the Little Sisters gain, but we should also realize how much the Big Sisters grow from the experience.”
