Children with special needs require lots of care. Mothers of children with special needs deserve care and support too. YahalomNY held a unique event for these mothers this Wednesday.
The event, latest in a series of evenings of support for mothers of special needs children, was hosted by Shmuel Dovid and Raizy Levinson in Monsey, New York, and was attended by over 80 mothers, coming from all across Monsey, and as far as Mount Kisco and Kiamesha Lake. The event, set up beautifully by the Levinsons, was a breath of fresh air for these mothers.
The night out was an opportunity for mothers to network and gather information, to have some fun, and get chizuk and inspiration. The event featured an open Q&A session with Mrs. Chani Juravel, LCSW, who spoke about some of the challenges facing mothers with special needs.
Mrs. Leah Steinberg, director of Agudah’s Project LEARN spoke about some of the work she is doing to increase the educational options for children with special needs in the Monsey area. Mrs. Ellen Wolfson addressed the mothers and spoke about the founding of YahalomNY and its plans for the future.
Yahalom is continuously working to support the special needs families of Klal Yisroel, and we are looking forward to future events.
