Lakewood, NJ — Zahav, Agudas Yisroel’s resource and referral center for seniors, recently hosted an Estate and Financial Planning Event at Beru, where over 400 seniors gathered to learn practical strategies for protecting their assets, optimizing finances, planning for healthcare, and strengthening family stability.

The program opened with Rabbi Labish Becker, executive director of Agudath Israel, introducing keynote speaker Rabbi Paysach Krohn, who spoke about the unique challenges that come with aging and offered valuable perspective on navigating them.

The evening’s main feature was an expert panel discussion covering essential topics such as estate planning and trusts, financial planning, Medicare and Medicaid, long-term care, and medical rights. Panelists included:

  • Rabbi Naftuli Lerner, Director, Business Halacha Institute
  • Joseph Klein, Esq., CPA, Partner, Korsinsky & Klein LLP
  • Yisroel M. Krohn, CFP, Financial Planner, Mayco Financial Services
  • Allen Lempel, MD, Geriatric & Internal Medicine, Medical Director, Leisure Chateau Care & Rehab Center

Moderated by Rabbi Avi Schnall, the panel provided seniors with clear, actionable guidance to help them make informed decisions about financial and healthcare planning.

One attendee reflected, “My husband and I just attended the seminar you arranged. It was absolutely excellent! Each presentation was so informative, clear, and valuable!”

Another attendee commented on how inspiring he found Rabbi Krohn’s remarks to be, and he plans to put it into action immediately

“We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to our event,” said Mrs. Hadassah Waldman, Director of Zahav. “The focus of our message was simple: people don’t plan to fail—they fail to plan. The turnout and engagement highlight how important it is for seniors to have access to this kind of practical information.”

Zahav looks forward to continuing to host programs that address the needs of seniors in the community. For more information about Zahav and upcoming initiatives, please visit Agudah.org/Zahav or contact Mrs. Hadassah Waldman at [email protected] or 732-540-1898.
